Gymnastics Strength & Conditioning Club

Sportivate

Through Pro-Active London, motive8 has been successful in receiving its first ever lot of funding. Working in conjunction with Pro-Active London and Sport England, we will be running an adult Gymnastics Strength & Conditioning Club from August 2011. In collaboration with our new venue partner, Richmond-Upon-Thames College, the new club is aimed those who are not currently choosing to take part in sport in their own time, or are doing so for a very limited amount of time.

It also provides a safe environment for participants to develop their overall fitness, strength and body condition. It is a recreational gymnastics class that utilises specialist equipment and expertise to help combine fun with effective exercise.

The funding we have received enables us to provide six free sessions, starting from 23rd August 2011. These sessions give participants the opportunity to see of they like the club and if so, they can pay to stay on after the initial six week period is up for as long as they wish.

Sportivate is a £32 million Lottery programme. Not only is it a chance for people to learn a new sport or improve on existing skills, but if they keep taking part after the course is finished, they could find themselves on their way to watch the London 2012 Olympic or Paralympics Games.

All participants who complete their course, missing no more than one session, and keep playing the sport for at least another three months, will be entered into a ballot for free London 2012 tickets.

"To hear that we were successful in our bid for funding provided us with a huge sense of achievement. It is nice to be able to branch out into the wider community, offering our expertise to help those who might otherwise not get involved in sport."
