motive8 Multi-Sports Camp February Half Term 2011

Collis Primary School

February’s half-term camp really put the space we have at our disposal to good use, with numbers and the popularity of our camp having grown massively since we started; the session quality was most definately at its best.

The camp held at Collis Primary School in Teddington has become a great home for motive8 holiday provision. The school boasts great outdoor space and indoor facilities, enabling us to host a range of sports.

The camp was planned to engage children in Football, Tag Rugby and Hockey, the sports currently being played at this time of the year. All activities were well recieved, but football proved to be the children’s runaway favourite.

With this in mind, we were flexible and adapted each day to not only give children variety in the sports that they experienced, but also to focus more on the sport that they wanted to do - after all, they were on holiday and we wanted them to enjoy their time with us.

Children were continually engaged in skill based practices leading to the opportunity to play matches amongst each other each day.

With all children’s exceptional behaviour and achievements being noted by the coaches, it was difficult each day to select award winners, which is always a great problem to have. The way in which all children gelled during their time with us is what makes the motive8 camp so special.

At the end of every day, the Multi-Sports group were treated to a performance from the Gymnastics, Cheerleading and Streetdance group.
