motive8 Football Tournaments March 2011

motive8 Schools

motive8 delivered its biggest and best football tournaments yet in March 2011, with a total of 6 schools attending and 96 children participating across two weeks of events at our host venue, Collis Primary School in Teddington.

The tournaments were split by year group - children in years 3 and 4 played first, followed a week later by years 5 & 6. The motive8 team set up 4 pitches on Collis’s school field, meaning children were active for the majority of the time they were at the tournament. The team tried to replicate a professional environment with warm up areas, sub entrances and pitch respect lines. The games were refereed by motive8’s FA qualified coaches who, despite the very cold weather, were kitted out in their all black refereeing uniforms, looking professional.

Teams progressed through group, quarter, semi and final stages giving every game their all. The atmosphere at both tournaments was electrifying, with smiles, cheers and words of encouragement all round. The year 5 & 6 tournament even saw a special appearance from their cheerleading squad, who came out to support their teams with inspiring chants and pompom shakes. Collis also very kindly supplied supporters with tea and coffee refreshments, which went down a treat for those who had forgotten their gloves!

The motive8 team ensured a swift turnover of scores, updating the score board after each round to keep all informed. All teams played fantastic football with motive8 referees being well and truly worn out from all their running around, keeping up with the fast pace of the games.

Every player from each school received a certificate of achievement with the top three teams being awarded medals and the winner the motive8 cup. Feedback from parents teachers and staff was all very positive, with everyone very much looking forward to the next motive8 tournament….Kwik Cricket.

I just wanted to say a huge thanks for organising the football tournaments, as I know how much hard-work and organisation must go into it by many people at motive8. It ran really smoothly and the children (and spectators) really enjoyed themselves. They were both such enjoyable days, it was well worth it. Looking forward to the next ones. Laura O’Connor, Kew Riverside Primary School

Can I just say I am so impressed with how organised this is. Its great how much they get to play as some of us have come all the way from Sheen Mount. Parent
