Project Case Study

Dalston Square, East London

Barratt Homes East London

The fantastic new facility at Dalston Square signals another addition to our portfolio for Barratt Homes East London.

As a key part of the area’s regeneration, the scheme will deliver more than 500 new homes, a library, public square, commercial and retail opportunities as well as a brand new London Overground station, called Dalston Junction, which opened earlier this year.

With Phase 1 all sold out and completed, the first residents have slowly begun to move in, with further apartments in Phase 2 due to complete over the coming months. Since its opening back in May 2010, motive8 has delivered over 200 inductions, proving the residents’ only gym to be a popular feature of the development.

As the space available was of a substantial size, motive8 recommended a full circuit of Life Fitness resistance machines to complement the cardio equipment. Whilst facing three standalone wall-mounted LCD TV’s, residents can choose from 3 treadmills, 2 upright bikes, 1 recumbent bike, 2 Concept2 rowers or 3 Octane X-trainers.

This is all complemented by a large, spacious stretching area offering 3 large and 4 small stretch mats alongside 5 various sized Swiss Balls. In addition to the equipment, motive8 also supplied the flooring, which includes a special ‘cushioning’ effect in the stretching area.
