Royal Quarter, Kingston, Surrey

Originally constructed by St George West London, Royal Quarter is a stunning, modern residential development in the heart of Kingston Upon Thames. Located along the banks of the River Thames, it offers the best of both waterfront and town centre living.

motive8 was employed by the development’s managing agents to come in and recommend an entire refurbishment of the current facility. The equipment, that was originally installed by another provider, was falling out of order on a regular basis and did not make best use of the space available .

The evening prior to the installation of the new equipment, motive8 cleared the gym of its current contents, ensuring minimal downtime of the gym and as little disruption to residents as possible. The new facility features a selection of Life Fitness cardiovascular and resistance equipment as well as a Dual Adjustable Pulley which can perform over 225 different exercises over a very small footprint.

Pairs of treadmills, bikes, ellipticals and rowers were chosen for the cardio section of the facility and were complemented by two resistance machines, one for the upper body and one for the lower.

A multi-adjustable bench sits alongside two full sets of free weights offering weights from 1 to 30kgs. There is also a dedicated stretching area featuring mats, a Dura ball, which can also be used with the Dual Adjustable Pulley, a foam roller and a Reebok step.

Three wall-mounted LCD TV’s completed the installation.
